What’s been happening? Good news This week the Smiths Wood Officers have had the following arrests: 3 x arrests for Domestic Violence offences 1 x arrest for a Shoplifter who was wanted for 13 offences across the borough. On Thursday 25th June we took the Mobile Police Station to Marston Drive outside the Co-Op in Kingshurst. We were engaging with residents and offer crime prevention advice. One of our eagle-eyed officers spotted a bike in a bush whilst on patrol. After making enquiries it was a stolen bike and has now been returned to its owner. We attended Party in the Park at Arden Hall on Saturday, what a lovely event for the local community to attend. Thank you to Arden Hall for all their efforts in arranging it. Monday the team held an all-out day in the Kingshurst area. We were joined by Solihull Council, housing officers and our Guardian Task Team. We were out knocking doors listening to people’s concerns and carrying out hi-vis patrol around the area in vehicles and on foot. Officers were also on foot patrol around Babbs Mill. Today, Smithswood NHT partnered with Solihull Council and spoke to the residents of Mull Croft in order to try and tackle the Anti Social Behaviour issues around Mull Croft. We have also welcomed a new member to our neighbourhood Team, officer Spencer Sutton who has been given the post of dedicated neighbourhood officer for the Kingshurst Area. This means we now have a dedicated neighbourhood officer for the three areas we police.
